Ingredients
- One box of Shroomeats Mushroom Patties
- 2 burger buns
- 1 red onion sliced (¼” thick)
- 1 tomato sliced
- 4 slices preferred American cheese
- 8-12 leaves of iceberg lettuce
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2-3 sliced pickles
- A few pinches of seasoned salt
- 1 tbsp preferred oil
For the Special Sauce
- 1/2 cup preferred mayo
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp sweet relish
- 1 1/2 tsp maple syrup
Instructions
- Make the sauce by adding all of the Special Sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.
- Slice the patties in half horizontally, making 4 thin patties, add a pinch of salt to each.
- Heat the oil in a pan and saute the onions until browned and caramelized. Remove onions and set aside.
- Using the same pan, fry the patties for 2-3 minutes then apply a layer of mustard on the top, flip once.
- Place one cheese slice on each patty and melt.
- While the patty finishes cooking, lightly toast buns on the skillet until golden brown.
- Dress the bottom bun with the Special Sauce and the top with ketchup. Layer the other ingredients on the bottom bun as follows - pickles, 1 tomato slice, 3-4 lettuce leaves, 2 patties, and sautéed onions. Place the top bun and enjoy!
